Recently, eBay has announced that it has merged Magento as well as eBay Enterprise into a single business unit and looking to develop many new opportunities for Magento partners, merchants and developers.
Mark Lavelle, eBay Senior Strategy and Business, is moving over to eBay Enterprise to lead the newly formed product strategy organization at the company. It comes to know that he is going to report to Christopher Saridakis president of eBay Enterprise.
He said “This is a game-changer for us, said Saridakis. “We are going on the offensive, taking the reins of innovation and further positioning eBay Enterprise as an industry leader.”
As per the Magento statement in a blog post “By combining the extensive capabilities of our leading organizations, we are bringing the ecommerce technology, multichannel operations and marketing services capabilities of eBay Inc. together under one umbrella”.
Moreover, “Moving forward, retail and brand partners of all sizes will find an unmatched portfolio of offerings that seamlessly deliver integrated commerce solutions to drive their revenue and growth. For Magento, it’s business as usual”.
Still, the company has not declared in-depth detail about what the future of this hold, but the company says we will be hearing about it in the coming months.
